Drilling update week 29

20 July 2023

Last week, the drilling rig was moved from the injection well to the production well. The upper hole of the injection well has been successfully drilled. In this upper section of the injection well, the casing tubes are currently still being installed and cemented. A borehole casing is a tube placed in the borehole during the drilling process. It serves as a protective covering for the borehole and helps prevent damage to the walls of the borehole and the mixing of different layers in the subsurface. This work is expected to be completed this week.

Now that the derrick has been moved, drilling of the production well has begun. In September, the derrick will be returned to the injection well for further drilling into the depths here.

On the other side of Rotterdamseweg, the site is currently being leveled to make room for the storage of test water. After the construction vacation in mid-August, work on the layout of the test water site will begin.
