Construction Update: Geothermie Delft (June 2025)

27 June 2025

Work is progressing rapidly at the Geothermie Delft site, with some fantastic milestones reached in recent weeks. The on-site heat pipelines have been successfully laid, construction of the pump house is underway, and key connections within the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant have been completed.

Over the coming weeks, the team will continue with foundation work, installing screw piles to support the future Heat Pump Station. Screw piles were chosen specifically because they generate significantly less vibration and noise than traditional driven piles, minimising disruption for the surrounding area.

We remain firmly on track to begin supplying sustainable heat to campus buildings and residences in Delft by the end of this year—a major milestone we are all working hard to achieve. This brings us another step closer to delivering locally produced, sustainable heat to Delft.
