What does the geothermal energy project in Delft look like now? What is de current status and what are the expectations for the coming months? Maaike Zwart and a team of officials from the Municipality of Delft came to take a look for themselves this week during a visit to Geothermie Delft.
Alderman Zwart, who has been in office since June 2022, visited the most important sustainable energy projects in the city during a summer bike ride through Delft. As a portfolio holder for sustainability, work & income and the economy, she was particularly curious about the sustainability impact of the supply of geothermal energy to the built environment and the spatial integration of these types of projects. We also considered the relationships and cooperation with parties in the area, including the companies on the Rotterdamseweg and Schieoevers and the other important sustainable heat project Open Warmtenet Delft.
As in previous years, GTD and the Municipality of Delft will continue to work closely together in the coming period to ensure that the realization of the geothermal power plant runs as smoothly as possible. Because the sustainability ambitions of the Municipality of Delft are undiminished!
